One of the biggest concerns people face when they consider acquiring a dog is having to exercise it daily or even twice daily. Because for some people, this just isn’t something they can do.

They may be a senior, who doesn’t walk as well or as fast as they once did, or it may be someone with some sort of long-term leg injury. But that doesn’t have to mean that they don’t get ever to own a dog again…

The good news is that there are a great many breeds of dogs out there that are actually quite lazy and don’t require anywhere near as much exercise as other breeds.

In this article, we’re going to introduce to you more than different breeds of dogs that are total couch potatoes.

So in no particular order, here goes!

1. Dachshunds

Dachshunds are one of the most popular dogs in the world today. They’re also considered to be one of the laziest dogs around.

This breed was originally bred by German farmers back in the 1800s to help them work their farms.

These days, however, dachshunds are known for being extremely affectionate little dogs.

They’re not usually very active at all but will happily curl up next to you while you watch TV.

2. Pugs

Pugs are another prevalent dog breed, especially among women. And for a good reason, too – pugs are cute, cuddly, and super friendly.

But despite what your mom might tell you, pugs are actually pretty lazy dogs.

Because of their short legs, they tend to prefer staying close to home rather than exploring new places.

3. Chihuahuas

Chihuahuas are probably the cutest dog breed in existence, and they’re also one of the laziest.

Chihuahuas were originally bred to hunt rats, so they’ve been trained to chase down small animals from a young age.

However, because of their size, chihuahuas often find themselves getting lost or injured in high-traffic areas. So, it is best to keep an eye on your chihuahua at all times when you are out and about.

And for a good reason, too – they’re tiny, fluffy, and love nothing better than sleeping in the sun.

If you want a dog that won’t require you to spend hours every day walking him, then this is definitely the dog breed for you.

5. French Bulldogs

They have quite a unique appearance and are known for being incredibly loyal and loving dogs.

But despite this, French bulldogs are actually fairly lazy dogs.

Because they’re relatively large, they will need some exercise to keep fit and healthy. But this exercise is a lot less than the amount that some other breeds require.

6. Yorkshire Terriers

Although they can get away with being a bit lazy sometimes, they do require regular daily exercise.
